Students Annual contest
Bonanza
In early July 2019, Dikla from the Shenkar Institute of Documentation and Research of Design in Israel informed me that the institute is moving from their office building on Bialik Street in Ramat Gan to the Shenkar campus. The new place will be smaller and she said that they would like to return Shamir brothers related materials to me. On the same day a messenger arrived with 2 cartons containing some thick binder.
I quickly discovered that the Shenkar Institute not only preserved the materials I provided to it over the years, but added material collected by itself: articles incorporating Shamir works, ads designed by other artists that used Shamir design elements, cartoons using the state emblem, the post office logo or even the Shamir designed banknotes.
Some of the material was uploaded to our site when the website was created, but a large part has not been scanned yet and is still on paper in binders.
A real surprise was finding a print on a Jerusalem stone where the artist superimposed the frame, olive branches and the word ISRAEL on a picture of the Arch of Titus thus including the original Menorah in the State emblem image. It also included a prayer for the State of Israel below it.
