Envelopes and postcards are issued not only by the post office or the philatelic service but by other organisations as well. Stamp dealers and various institutions produce such items on their own initiative. They then take care to have the envelopes or postcards postmarked on the day of issue of the stamp or with a special stamp/mark for the related event, be it a conference, an exhibition or international or national Fair.
To distinguish between the official and unofficial envelopes and postcards we have assembled the latter in this section. There may well be more such informal items designed by Shamir which we have yet to discover.
We encourage collectors to identify such items and send us scans and any relevant identifying information..
