Record Album Cover

Eran Litvin , Kol Israel Radio Music Editor, surprised us: He discovered a Record album cover designed by Shamir Brothers for Hed Artzi: " Songs of IDF bands". Until today (12 Nov 2013) we did not know of any record album cover designed by them during their lifetime. Following their deaths two sets of CDs "Hebrew labour" with used design elements from their works.

Shamir brothers worked for the music industry throughout their career. In the 1930s they designed ads for radio sets manufactured by Philco, a radio model “Gal Hed” manufactured by the Eretz Israel Radio and Electrical Company, and a radio Zamir. In the 50s they created the Zimriya Logo and advertisements for the Zimriya. In the 60s they designed posters, brochures and medals for the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. In the following two decades, Shamir designed many stamps for different countries with musical themes: composers, musicians and musical instruments.

Does Eran Litvin surprise suggest that there may be additional record covers? Time will tell.
