The 2015 facial images superimposed on the old banknotes are:
1. The half pound banknote - MK Stav Shafir (Zionist camp)
2. The one pound banknote - Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, the former chief of general staff of the Israel Defense Forces
3. The five pounds banknote - MK Itzik Shmuly (Zionist camp)
4. The ten pounds banknote - MK Yaakov Peri (Yesh Atid - There is a future)
5. The fifty pounds banknote - MK Shelly Yachimovich and MK Yitzhak "Bougie" Herzog (Zionist camp)
The original banknotes were designed by Shamir Brothers in 1959 for the Bank of Israel. All the characters in the original designs were the figments of imagination of designers. In 1972, the Bank began to issue banknotes with images of personalities - posthumously.
The designer, Yfaat Shechter, of the above fictitious banknotes with the superimposed contemporary (2015) personalities decided not to wait for their deaths and to perpetuate them while still alive.
