Nahal soldier, carrying a basket of oranges, decorated the Bank of Israel banknote of half a Lira in 1959 of. Shamir Brothers designed the obverse (front) sides of the banknotes of this series. This female soldier
has been brought back to service on the cover of a new book "Forward to fulfillment" by Yiftah Ashkenazi published by Hargol Plus in January 2014. The publisher did not ask for or recieve permission from the Shamir Brothers' heirs or give credit to the Shamir brothers. Credit was given (twice) to the cover designer Itamar Lahav - Radlmesser . The designer chose to use an image of a used and worn banknote, to express the " sweeping changes in society from the middle of the last century to the present". Jonathan Nadav wrote to Yoram Shamir that Hargol and partners express our apologies for this mishap . This is not the way to make use of intellectual property without asking permission.
